Cootehall is the most picturesque village situated where the River Boyle merges with the Lake and Quay West will be the centre piece of the village. The European headquarters of MBNA boasts employment for over 1000 jobs in the area with Masonite another key employer. The influx of a large number of medium sized companies relocating to Carrick-on-Shannon can be visibly seen with many new retail & commercial business parks currently under construction. Tesco has recently opened a new state of the art 24 hour centre and the main banks have had a strong branch presence in the town for many years.
