Imagine rising on Saturday morning in Quay West, get the family and friends organised and perhaps have breakfast in Bruno’s before you start up your Drago cruiser in Port Alainn marina ... no journey planned! ... so where to, you ask? ... well how about cruising up to Enniskillen (take in some shopping too!) and soon the Ulster Canal will be opening so its Belfast “here we come” ... or how about going down to Carrick-on-Shannon to the Oarsman for lunch ... and then finish up cruising Lough Key and the Forest Park for the afternoon (its only minutes from Carrick) ... or hell, let’s just take off for a leisurely break, finish up in Portumna having moored in every village along the way and really enjoyed the craic! ... now that’s what we call “Cruising the Shannon” ... just unbelievable!

Regarded as one of the best located and most modern marinas on the River Shannon, Port Alainn is owned by local man Paddy Gilboy who is the developer of Quay West. Paddy takes great pride in looking after all his boating customers in the marina, twelve months of the year. The marina boasts some of the finest cruisers moored on the Shannon and offers service, maintenance, fuelling and boat cleaning. Quay West residents will have their own private storage area in Port Alainn where the crew are ready to look after your Drago cruiser and offer induction, training and advice on all aspects of cruising the river.
